Welcome we are so excited to kick off our FIRST Waverles MUSINGS, a thoughtful blog that covers all things brain and body boosting, with wellness & lifestyle guidance as well as special interviews featuring wonderful humans like Alyssa Brieloff.

We really loved having Alyssa on set with us a couple weeks ago and we're so excited to sit down & connect with her on a deeper level.

Let's jump in!...

Hi Alyssa!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share some delightful musings with us. It’s extra cool to have your story tied to the bamboo basics launch and to have all this fantastic content to support it all! Can you start by telling us a little about yourself and this amazing holistic & spiritual wellness journey you are on (that we’re super excited to dig into today)?

I am a Spiritual Soulpreneur, wellness junkie, and conscious content creator. As an entrepreneur and multi-passionate person, I like to approach my work with a spiritual and intentional approach. From the brands that I work with to the type of content that I consume and share.

Take us back to the beginning, what kicked off your journey as a Reiki healer and other avenues of spiritual work and how has it evolved into what you put out into the world today?

Spirituality has always been part of my life ever since I was young. My grandmother was taking me to get reiki attunements when I was 8 years old. We would go crystal shopping together and she was always helping me ground my energy and feel supported. It carried with me throughout my life into high school and college utilizing the tools I had in my toolbox when I was feeling anxious or overwhelmed. As I moved to NYC, I was always seeking ways to live more mindfully and reconnect with my energy. I continued to get energy healing on myself and finally decided to get attuned again so that I could help others with this. Today, I offer reiki and meditation services, and I help share tools and tips for living in alignment and finding your inner guide.

I think it's quite unique and empowering that you were given tools at such a young age to manage stress and to sort of create the energy and intentions you want to take into your day to day. So many of us navigate the many different self care/self help/self service tools out there later in our lives, often when adulthood is just really kicking our a$$.

For those of us who have little to no mindfulness practice or internal reflection or acknowledgment of our own ‘spirituality’. What does that actually look like? Or how would you describe it? And furthermore, put into practice?

To me, spirituality is simply our self-awareness. We are all on our own spiritual journey and path just by existing in this space and time. We are all unique and have our own energetic makeup and beliefs, our own dreams, and our own purpose. Spirituality is being aware of your authenticity and going through your journey of awakening to your potential. It’s connecting with your own energy and your intuition, discovering paths that are aligned, and going through the ebbs and flows of life. We all will have different paths and tests from the universe, it’s about noticing which direction we feel called to, knowing what’s meant for us won’t pass us by and we are always learning and evolving.

You’ve had such tremendous growth with your work as a content creator as well and it feels like one of the reasons you’ve been able to grow such a powerfully engaged community is because of the level of intention with which you seek out resources and continual growth. You seem to always be exploring additional self care routines, comparing wellness products, tapping into your growing community and other resources (books, podcasts) for health hacks and mindful practices, etc.

With that, what are a few of your favorite wellness practices, rituals and/or routines you can share with us right now?

Some of my favorites are having an aligned AM routine, so starting each day with an intention and mindfulness practice to protect my energy and my peace for the day ahead. I love waking up and not checking my phone but instead meditating and listening to what I need that day. I love setting intentions for the day I want to have by simply thinking of what I want to focus on or call in. My favorite wellness tools and routines are tongue scraping after I brush my teeth followed by lemon water. I dry brush my skin and use lymphatic drainage paddles and oils to help release any toxins. I love using red light therapy for inflammation and skin support, especially in the winter months. And I move my body mindfully doing workouts that feel good such as low-impact workouts or pilates. Meditation is my constant routine that I must stick to or I energetically feel off. Even if it’s a quick round of breaths or listening to sound therapy while I walk.

Fantastic. Now, we had the pleasure of featuring you in our ‘Basics Done Better’ collection featuring our new drop of buttery bamboo basics. What do ‘basics’ mean for you in terms of getting dressed, styling yourself for different occasions and/or even, in relationship to your wellness work?

I work from home but I also am always on the go and love being able to wear something that makes me feel good and look put together. My wardrobe is full of basic pieces that are more sustainable and capsule pieces that I can continue to wear in different seasons and with different looks. Owning less but more high-quality basics is a priority of mine so that I don’t have to overthink my look but also know I am doing better for the planet. Instead of buying into trends, I usually rent trendy pieces that I may need for a certain occasion and then I purchase more basic pieces that I can wear forever that won’t go out of style.

You truly put such wonderful energy out into the world and we hope that your ‘basics’ support many feel good moments to come. Thank you for graciously giving your time and thoughtfulness to this conversation. I’d like to wrap us up with this - of all the incredible things you’re doing, spiritual, entrepreneurial or otherwise, what are you most proud of? And what are you most excited for in the future?

I am proud of my recent collection I came out with called the Angel No. Collection, which is angel number socks. They are GOTS-certified organic cotton meaning there are no toxic chemicals or dyes and they are fair-trade and fair labor. I love angel numbers because they are a way for the universe to communicate with you and show that you are guided and supported. We all have different unique numbers and I love that my collection has a variety of numbers for everyone. I am excited to continue to build collections that are better for the planet and help people feel more connected to the universe and their purpose.
